How to start a New Merit Badge
Our Troop has and inventory of Merit Badge books you can borrow with several Merit Badge Counselors available and just an email away.
Before starting your Merit Badge please make sure to:
Read through your Merit Badge requirements PRIOR to contacting Scoutmaster, Mr. Poon. NOTE: Merit Badges can no longer be completed virtually, (exception will be given to unusual circumstances and with prior approval from our Scoutmaster).
Once you have read through your Merit Badge requirements, contact Scoutmaster Mr. Poon for a conversation and he will help you by openning your blue card. You can reach your Scoutmaster at scoutmaster@hongkongtroop1.org.
Once you have received Scoutmaster's approval you need to contact your Merit Badge Counselor for instruction and guidance.

Remember, Eagle required Merit Badges take quite a bit longer to complete.
Steps to follow to get your Merit Badge awarded after completion
Once your Merit Badge is completed:
Send an email to Mrs. Millan at committee_chair@hongkongtroop1.org to let her know you have completed your Merit Badge. Don't forget to copy to your email your Merit Badge Counselor AND your Scoutmaster Mr. Poon at scoutmaster@hongkongtroop1.org.
Mrs. Millan will also need to receive email confirmation of completion from your counselor.
The paper copy of your signed blue card needs to be submitted to Mrs. Millan in order for it to be recorded and added to your Scoutbook records. Only then you will be ready to be awarded your Merit Badge.
You will receive your Merit Badge during the following Court of Honor. At this time, your portion of your Blue Card will be returned to for your safekeeping as well.
